As well as being a member of cfuw Milton and our current Publicity Chair, Elaine Reid is a volunteer with and coordinator for the St John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program here in Milton.
Elaine joined the Therapy Dog team with her dog, Scout, in February 2015, after retiring from a 35-year career with BMO Bank of Montreal. Since joining, she & Scout have logged 250 hours and visited over 25 venues here in town, including Milton District Hospital, Halton Women’s Shelter, all the high schools, and 15 middle and elementary schools. While these visits keep Elaine and Scout quite busy, she also draws upon her work experience as a public speaker to talk to local groups and classes about the impact Therapy Dogs have on the lives of those whom they visit.
Elaine will be speaking to our members at our March 2nd meeting.
