Our Guest Speaker for our May monthly meeting is Katie McMillan.

Katie McMillan is the Executive Director of Milton District Hospital Foundation (MDHF) where she leads a team dedicated to advancing healthcare philanthropy and fostering meaningful connections within the community.Katie McMillan

With a career spanning two decades, Katie’s journey has been marked by her dedication to building relationships and fostering support for causes that are important to her. Most notably, her tenure as Director of Philanthropy, Major & Planned Giving at St. Michaels Hospital Foundation in Toronto showcased her expertise in major gift fundraising, campaign management, and event coordination. Prior to her role at St. Michaels, Katie spent nine years at ROM Governors, including four years as Associate Vice­ President, Principal Gifts, where she honed her skills in fundraising strategy and donor engagement. Her dedication to the field extends beyond Toronto, having also made impactful contributions to fundraising efforts at the YMCA of Greater Toronto and the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. Throughout her career, Katie has demonstrated a remarkable ability to cultivate meaningful relationships and secure substantial support for her organizations.

Katie has a deep affinity for the idea of working tov,1ards something bigger than herself, emphasizing her role as a storyteller and connector who inspires philanthropic giving in support of those making a real difference in communities – including brilliant artists, trailblazing scientists and talented, compassionate physicians. Katie is a strong believer in the vital role of philanthropy in uniting communities and ensuring that the people living in these communities have access to compassionate healthcare close to home.
